Community Health Nursing

Community health nursing, also known as public health nursing, is a practice that combines nursing and public health to promote and protect the health of populations.

CHNs may have many roles in their communities, including:

• Identifying people in need
• Assessing individuals and families
• Providing health services
• Advocating for the community
