Introduction: The research nurse (RN) in the Czech Republic currently does not have a precisely defined position, but intensive work is being done on the concept.
Objective: To introduce the positions/job descriptions/competencies of registered nurses (RNs) in the Czech Republic based on our initial work.
Methodology: Two very interesting projects are being carried out in the form of a questionnaire survey and mapping within the nursing section of the Czech Paediatric Society of the Czech Republic. One is dedicated to collecting data on the occurrence of skin defects (PU - pressure ulcers, PIAD - paediatric incontinence associated dermatitis and others) in hospitalized paediatric patients. The second project is focused on optimizing sedation, pain, and withdrawal/delirium management from the perspective of a non-medical healthcare professional. The results of this project will lead to the creation of a professional recommendation and at the same time to the creation of a predictable communication on this platform.
Conclusion: The role of the RN is essential in the process of developing a project concept, its processing, national wide communication and publication.
